Why IT teams send their fleet refreshes here

We've handled lease returns, 1:1 program retirements, lab refreshes, and ITAD wholesale lots since 2009. Every order ships back to our Illinois facility for inspection and wipe.

Per-serial pricing, not tier buckets

Every line on your CSV gets its own number on our quote. Priced against current resale on MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, Mac mini, and Mac Studio — not a flat tier.

Prepaid UPS labels & custom packaging

Labels emailed the same day the quote is approved. For larger lots we can arrange custom packaging on request — boxes, foam, and pallet (skid) pickup with materials provided.

Wipe certificate per serial

Each device is sanitized on arrival. We send back a per-serial wipe report — what most school districts and corporate IT need for their asset register.

Pay how you actually get paid

ACH, paper check, PayPal, or Techable store credit (+10%). Purchase orders accepted from accredited schools, universities, and government accounts.

We catch MDM & ABM locks early

If a device is still tied to Jamf, Mosyle, Kandji, Intune, or Apple Business Manager, we flag it before payout and tell your IT team exactly which serials to release.

Inspected at our Illinois facility

Every shipment is logged, inspected, and wiped at our Illinois warehouse. Inspection time depends on lot size and condition mix; we'll keep you updated and release payment as soon as it closes.

What recent bulk lots actually paid

Real ranges from quotes we wrote in the last 90 days. Final number depends on exact spec, condition, and the resale market the week your shipment lands.

From an IT director who shipped us 142 MacBooks

Unedited feedback from a recent K-12 refresh.

Quote came back in a day and a half with every serial priced separately. They sent labels, picked up the pallets, and paid out cleanly after inspection. No haggling on arrival — that's the part that usually goes sideways with buyback companies.

How a bulk Mac trade-in actually runs

Four steps. One account manager from quote to payment — no hand-offs to a different inspection or accounting team.

1

Send your inventory

Drop a CSV in the form, or list quantities, models, and condition. Photos help on damaged units but aren't required.

2

Get a written quote

Per-serial pricing back within 48 business hours. We'll ask one or two clarifying questions if specs are ambiguous.

3

Ship on us

Approve the quote and we email prepaid UPS labels the same day. Custom packaging and pallet pickup available on request for larger lots.

4

Inspection & payment

Devices are logged, inspected, and wiped at our Illinois facility. Once inspection closes, we release payment by ACH, check, PayPal, or store credit (+10%).

Who we buy from

We've quoted lots from one-room offices and from districts retiring thousands of devices. Same process either way.

  • Businesses rotating fleets, returning leases, or closing offices.
  • Schools & districts retiring 1:1 MacBook programs or refreshing labs.
  • Universities handling departmental and lab surplus.
  • IT teams & MSPs running client device disposition.
  • ITAD providers & recyclers moving wholesale Apple inventory.
  • Government & nonprofits with PO-based procurement.

Bulk Mac trade-in: questions we get every week

If something's missing here, email help@sellmac.com — a real person reads it.

1. How many Macs qualify as a bulk trade-in?

We consider five or more Macs a bulk order. Smaller lots of high-value devices (Mac Studio, Mac Pro, fully-loaded MacBook Pros) also qualify. Contact us with your list for a custom quote.

2. Do you accept damaged or non-working Macs in bulk?

Yes. We make fair offers on broken Macs, cracked screens, water damage, and units that no longer power on. Note any damage in your inventory list so we can quote an accurate payout.

3. Can I mix different Mac models in one bulk shipment?

Absolutely. You can ship MacBook Pros, MacBook Airs, iMacs, Mac minis, and Mac Studios in the same shipment. List each model and condition in the form so we can build a single combined quote.

4. How is data wiped on bulk Mac trade-ins?

Every Mac is professionally wiped on arrival using a certified data-erasure process. We can provide a written wipe confirmation for each serial number on request, which is required by most school districts and IT departments.

5. What payout methods do you offer for bulk buybacks?

ACH direct deposit, paper check, PayPal, and Techable store credit (with a 10% bonus). Payment is issued after your devices are received and inspected.

6. Do you handle Apple Business Manager (ABM) and MDM unenrollment?

Yes. Devices enrolled in Apple Business Manager or an MDM (Jamf, Mosyle, Kandji, Intune) must be released from your tenant before final payout. We will flag any locked devices during inspection and walk your IT team through the release process.

7. How fast can I get a bulk quote?

Most bulk quotes are returned within 48 business hours. Larger lots (250+ devices) or shipments with mixed conditions may take up to one business day so we can price each line accurately.

8. Do you provide free shipping for bulk orders?

Yes. We provide prepaid UPS shipping labels for every bulk order. For larger lots, we can arrange custom packaging on request, including boxes, foam, and pallet (skid) pickup with materials provided.

9. Can schools and government buyers use a purchase order?

Yes. We accept purchase orders from accredited schools, school districts, universities, and government entities. We can also complete W-9, vendor onboarding, and insurance certificates as needed.
