About this Apple Watch Apple unveiled the Apple Watch Series 8 – A2857 on September 7, 2022. This cellular model is only available for purchase in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau. This model is nearly identical to its predecessor (Apple Watch Series 7). This model also has additional features, including an improved gyroscope, a temperature sensor for expanded health monitoring, Crash detection for car crashes, and a Low Power option for extended battery life. Apple also claimed that the S8 processor of this device delivers 20% more performance than the S5 processor. This model comes in both aluminum and stainless steel casings. It must be connected to an iPhone 8 or later (with iOS16 or later) to use the Internet and perform additional functions.
